Guatemala Junta (Fourth Heist)

The Majestic Cola Company, is upset the new President Luna Ortiz of Guatemala has nationalized all Kola Nut production. Causing the possible loss of billions of dollars for Majestic Cola. Luna Ortiz has made a lot of enemies in the western world. Including Florida Senator Ralph Shipton, who will be in Guatemala to make threats and express the displeasure of the US government.

Majestic Cola has partnered with white sands Corporation to train, arm, and fund the local opposition party and military leaders in Guatemala. They expect Luna’s days to be numbered. There are three shipments of money, arms, vehicles being sent to General Romero, each shipment will be sent by a different means of transportation air, sea, and land.

White sands is a private security company that has provides discrete security for many government around the world. They have highly skilled and armed personal, that have been trained in insurrection. It’s time to bring down some heat and harm on the players characters.

The Pitch

Luna Ortiz was once a friend of Francis Bateson, and Chris believes you have proved yourselves and can handle this very dangerous challenge. Luna can bring to the table her support among the local growers, and small number of loyal police forces.

The Majestic Cola company has hired the mercenary firm White Sands to stage a military Junta in Guatemala. Dan Thrasher is leading several small special forces squads. They are armed and with the best vehicles which are heavily modified with all the latest spy gadgets. They have also swayed General Romero to their side as he hopes to become the next president, giving them access to local military bases and airstrips.

The Sugar Research Fund has sent a diplomate US Senator Ralph Shipton to give President Luna Ortiz one last chance to reverse her plans to nationalize agricultural production, and to earn fair trade agreements. He has access to special limo and private jet. Ralph is protected by a highly skilled driver and pilot, and a couple bodyguards.

Majestic Kola is transferring several arms and payment shipments to General Romero to guarantee his support. Make sure they do not arrive, and warn-off General Romero.

Ralph Shipton US Senator of the State of Florida, and is representing the interests of the Sugar Research Fund. He a classic southern gentleman with a Florida flare. He speaks fluent Spanish but with a bit of southern draw. He may have a grudge to grind with the characters, he’ll appear genial but will order Dan Thrasher to ambush the characters.

General Carlos Romero Has ties with the opposition party and sees him self as the next president. He is courting western leaders and corporations, and wants to see President Luna’s plans fail.

Dan Thrasher Leader of White Sand (Sweet Revenge) Squads in Guatemala. He was trained in the US military special forces, and will use his squads to stop the characters intervention, and has access to special intelligence channels.

President Luna Ortiz She is the current president of Guatemala, she’s slight of build middle aged woman but with a commanding presence. She has won the support of the populace and is trying to follow through on her campaign promise of getting fair trade rights for their agricultural goods, starting with Kola nuts. She will be excited to see the player and will ask about her old friend Francis.

Ace Is a character from a previous episode that is now Ralph’s driver and pilot. He will protect Ralph as he’s his current pay check, but he has no love for Majestic Cola and is open to change sides with the right leverage. He takes great pride in his abilities and will race to prove it.

Mateo Díaz Leader of the opposition party, he fears Luna is to socialist for Guatemala and is working with many right wing groups to stop her agenda. He will disavow any connection to General Romero and Majestic Cola if he can no longer gain any benefit from them.

Callahan (Abulo) Chief of Police, A little Corrupt but still fan of the President. He also has won the support of the workers. Callahan wears large hand cannon on his hip and carries a large walking stick which he uses to support the gun we shooting. He is 104 years old and a Pieces. His police are loyal to him and his sharp whit. Callahan connections with common people keeps his police out of danger. Luna has asked him to help character if he is able.

Locations

Pensacola Airport Majestic Cola and White sands will be using the international airport in Pensacola as the staging ground for their first shipment. This is where they will be loading a cargo plane heading for Guatemala. White Sands has an office in the private side of the airport and has several Jeeps, and Humvees available to for use. Their people will be armed with small arms.

Cargo Plane A large Boeing 747-8 Dreamlifter, is about to take off from the Pensacola International Airport. Load with supplies for General Romero.

Cargo Ship The UAES Valdez JR is feedermax size ship, with one on-deck crane and five cargo areas. The ship can carry 1000 twenty foot cargo containers.

Air base A military airbase in Guatemala where the flight from Pensacola is expected to land. It is lightly guarded and in regular use by the Guatemala military.

Military base Has lots of soldiers in barracks and out on training fields. The base has three large hangers used for storage of equipment, and three central command building. Near the base is a lovers overlook, where some of the base personal occasional go.

President’s Residence The President’s Residence is a large mansion, gates and guarded by police loyal to her. It is surrounded by private gardens.

Guatemala National Palace The national palace is in downtown Guatemala City, and has a large city square in front of it. The guard here are may not be as trusty worth and will not resist a riot of the people.

Deep Sea Port A bustling active trade port, ran by a company out of Dubai. The workers can be bribed, and are not happy with the military activity checking the cargo.

Expensive 5 Star Hotel for Foreigners Casa Palopo is an expensive resort like hotel. It is the only place that foreign are officially aloud to stay. It is luxurious and has excellent accommodations.

Town Square for Riots There are numerous large open town squares or plazas within the city where the common people gather. If riots are initiated they will be overwhelmed with people demanding retribution.

Intro Chris urgently requests your presence in Pensacola Florida. He’ll give you the pitch on the way.

Longest Runway A Majestic Cola cargo plane is about to take off for Guatemala stop the cargo plane or steal its cargo. It will be a 7 segment clock to stop the plane which must be completed in 4 rounds or the plane takes off. White Sands enforcers in jeeps or humvees will be trying to stop you. Chase the plane down the runway and stop it from taking off and destroy the cargo. Give the players some heat as they might be considered terrorist for attacking a plane on a runway.

Go to Ground White sands has eyes every where, you have gained some heat with White Sands and need to go to ground. Use the Off the Grid move, and have each payer describe how they spend the next week in isolation.

Mod your vehicle As they prepare to stop the next to shipments, they have a chance to buy some vehicle mods. In Pensacola there’s and underground shop called “Crazy Jakes Hydrofoils” which can provide for a cost.

Intel Chris comes through with some intel, the next shipment is going by sea. A cargo ship is heading into the port “Santo Tomas de Castilla” out of the Caribbean Sea. Chris and Luna have discovered the UAES Valdez Jr.’s possible route. Let the player decide if they want to meet it at sea or in the port.

UAES Valdez JR Has a crew of 12, and a unit of white sands security on boards. Two white sands security guards per character. They can drop seed boats into the water to fend off the characters. At the docks the whites sands will escort the selected crates to a small group of General Carlos Romero’s soldiers. The ship holds 1000 cargo containers, two cargo containers are bright red and tagged with the SRF logo which hold the bribes. Captain Hamilton doesn’t want any trouble on his watch he will rely on the white sand guards and won’t interfere with the players beyond locking them out of the bridge.

Arrival Arrive in Guatemala what’s you story for customs, and how are you getting your cars from the US to Guatamal.

Casa Palopo As you check into the the Hotel “Casa Palopo” overlooking the port. You see Ace and Ralph Shipton in the lobby. The characters should recognize Ace from a previous session. Ace is waiting for Senator Shipton to take him to his meeting with President Ortiz. If the player succeeded in the “Sweet White and Deadly” Heist then Ralph will recognize them and order Dan Thrasher to take them out.

Take Out (Optional) Dan Thrasher and his Sweet Revenge Squad will set an ambush for the characters. Force the players to either face a deadly fight or a chase in which they are trying to escape. Each character will have their own 5 segment track and opposition clock, if they can complete before the opposition clock they get away. If the fail they are captured or worse.

Land shipment The final shipment is a convoy of three trucks and several guard vehicles. The turks are carrying arms, cash, and a spider car. The spider car has stealth and all terrain capabilities. It also has a central weapons turret with a heavy machine gun, and sonic crowd control device. There are three possible routes which the convoy can take through Guatemala to military base, which one and how to stop it. Each truck has a 4 segment clock to stop it, and the players have 4 rounds to stop them before reinforcement show up.

Riots General Romero has instigates riots, in preparation for activating the military and over throwing President Ortiz. Help Callahan and President Luna Ortiz in calming the populace.

Showdown Confront General Romero and make sure he now knows it’s in his best interest to support the president.
